Classificação hierárquica

Classifica documentos através de hierarquias profundas de patentes, produtos de retalho, biomedicina e código-fonte, usando pesquisa em feixe paralela sobre as probabilidades Choice do TypeSafe.

Muitos dados existem como hierarquias estruturadas, tais como taxonomias, hierarquias de ficheiros, estruturas de sites web, bases de código, organigramas, ontologias biológicas, skills de LLM, políticas de moderação, etc. O objetivo da Classificação hierárquica é percorrer a hierarquia até ao nó folha correto, que é a classificação final. Isto encaixa na perfeição na primitiva Choice do typesafe. Encontramos a folha mais provável classificando o documento em cada nó (começando pela raiz), e depois avançando de forma iterativa para o próximo nó mais provável até terminar numa folha (pesquisa voraz).

A natureza paralela da API também nos deixa explorar vários caminhos com perguntas paralelas usando a pesquisa em feixe para melhorar o desempenho. As chamadas à API TypeSafe do cookbook avaliam cada uma, simultaneamente, K caminhos da hierarquia. A pesquisa em feixe mantém os melhores K caminhos por uma probabilidade geométrica da aresta: product(edge_probabilities) ** (1 / decisions), e poda os restantes. A probabilidade é normalizada pelo comprimento para que folhas rasas e profundas sejam comparadas em pé de igualdade.

Decompor o problema numa hierarquia como esta tem benefícios próprios:

  • Observabilidade
    • identifica em que nós ocorrem mais as tuas classificações erradas
    • mede o número de vezes que cada nó e aresta é percorrido
  • Testabilidade
    • testa unitariamente e mede o impacto das atualizações da hierarquia no desempenho da classificação

Hierarquias usadas neste cookbook

  • CPC 2026.05: matéria de patente, das secções tecnológicas amplas às invenções estreitas.
  • Shopify 2026-02: categorias de produtos de retalho, dos departamentos da loja aos tipos específicos de produto.
  • MeSH 2026: assuntos biomédicos de domínios amplos a condições específicas. O MeSH é um DAG, por isso um descritor pode aparecer sob vários pais; esta demonstração expande os seus caminhos de número de árvore oficiais.
  • CookSafe files: a hierarquia do repositório de cookbooks do TypeSafe, pesquisada das pastas até aos ficheiros de código-fonte.

Métodos

  • Pesquisa voraz: escolhe o filho de maior probabilidade e descarta todas as alternativas. Um erro inicial não pode ser recuperado.
  • Pesquisa em feixe: retém K caminhos plausíveis e classifica cada fronteira em paralelo. Provas mais profundas podem reparar uma decisão inicial ambígua. A folha do caminho com a maior probabilidade geométrica é a classificação final.
  • TypeSafe Choice: cada nó é uma pergunta Choice cuja distribuição de probabilidade completa são as suas arestas. Cada caminho do feixe corre como perguntas paralelas, por isso exploração extra acrescenta pouca latência de relógio.
  • Fórmula:
    • path_score = product(edge_probabilities) ** (1 / decisions)
      • usada para podar e comparar caminhos
    • separation = top_path_score / second_path_score
      • métrica útil, mas não usada para podar
      • a razão compara a média geométrica do caminho de topo com o seu rival mais próximo.
        • Perto de 1× é ambíguo
        • Uma razão grande significa separação clara.
  • Notas sobre as métricas:
    • uma métrica diferente como min(top_prob/second_top_prob) que otimizaria para caminhos que têm decisões muito claras em cada nó.
    • usa exp(mean(log(probs))) em vez de product(edge_probabilities) ** (1 / decisions) para evitar erros de precisão em hierarquias muito profundas (p. ex. >10 níveis)

Estes ajudantes descarregam fontes de taxonomia fixadas, analisam-nas em árvores de filhos diretos, e desenham cada travessia de pesquisa como um SVG estático.
